Middle Eastern Cabbage and Ground beef* 2 T. olive oil 4 carrots, thinly sliced (cheat: can of sliced carrots) 1 onion, chopped dash of salt or accent Tbspn of ginger pounder (or ½ fresh) black pepper red crushed pepper ground cumin turmeric head cabbage, shredded banana peppers (jar) cilantro 2 cups of ground beef
Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat. Sautee ground beef in a separate pan w/ seasoning, once browned set aside; sautee carrots w/ turmeric, cumin, 1/3 cup of banana peppers (a little juice adds kick); add cabbage w/ black pepper and cook another 10-15minutes, stirring occasionally. Cooking in a wok medium heat helps cabbage stay crisp.
Serves 6 to 8 people depending on serving size. Good over rice. *leave ground beef out to make an excellent vegetarian dish. This is a 30min. meal.
